What is the water cycle?
Water moves around the Earth.
Energy from the Sun heats water in lakes and oceans.
The energy from the Sun makes water evaporate.
Evaporate means to change water to a gas.
This is called water vapor.
Water vapor are tiny droplets of water in the air.
The water rises into the air.
The air up high is cold.
Cold air turns the gas back to water.
Gas becoming water is called condensation.
The little drops of water make a cloud.
The drops of water get bigger and fall from the cloud.
This is called rain.
Sometimes it is very cold.
The little drops of water freeze.
The frozen water falls from the cloud as snow.
Rain and snow are called precipitation.
