Land, Water, and Air

land

The Earth has land. Land is made of rock and soil. We live on land. Trees and plants grow on land!

water

The Earth has water. Water is in lakes, rivers, and oceans. Water flows. We need water to live!

air

The Earth has air. We breathe air. We cannot see air, it is a gas.

gas

Air is a gas. We cannot see gas, but it can fill things up like a tire, a balloon, or a bubble.

atmosphere

The atmosphere is all around Earth. The atmosphere is made of gas. The atmosphere makes weather.

ocean

The ocean is made of water. The ocean is very, very big! A lot of animals live in the ocean, like fish and whales!

lake

Lakes can be very big. A lot of fish and other plants and animals live in lakes. Lakes have fresh water.

river

A river is made of water. A river can move water from a mountain to an ocean or lake. Lots of animals live in lakes.

continent

A continent is a very big piece of land. The Earth has seven continents.
