Planets do not give off light.

Planets reflect light.

We need light to see things.

We cannot see a ball in a dark room.

But if you point a flashlight at it, you can see the ball!

This is called to reflect.

The Sun gives off light.

The Sun’s light bounces of a planet.

The light from the Sun, is reflected onto the planet.

We can see the planet because the Sun’s light reflects off of it.
