The Senses

We have senses.  The senses are to hear, see, smell, taste and feel.  We use our ears, eyes, nose, mouth and skin for our senses!

We can understand things by using our eyes.  We can know what color, shape, or size something is by using our eyes.  This is called to see.

We can understand things with out nose.  We can understand how something smells with our nose.  We can know if it smells like a flower, or like dinner, or like a fish!

We can understand things by using our skin.  Our skin can feel things.  We can understand if something is soft, hard, sharp, round of. heavy. This is called to feel.

We can understand things with our mouth.  Our tongue has tastebuds.  Tastebuds understand if something is sweet, salty, or spicy!  This is called to taste.

We can understand things with our ears.  We can understand if something is loud or quiet with our ears.  We can understand words and songs and sounds.  This is called to hear.

Eyes are in our head.  We can see with our eyes.

Ears are in our head.  We can hear with our ears.

Our mouth is in our head.  We can eat with our mouth.  Inside the mouth is the tongue.  We can taste things with out tongue.

Our nose is in our head.  We can smell with our nose.

We have skin on the outside of our body.  Skin protects our body.  We can also feel through our skin.
