A heart is in our body.  Our heart is a pump that moves blood around our body.  it brings the blood back from the rest of the body too!

Our heart moves the blood around our body.  Blood is a liquid.  Blood brings oxygen to our body.

Arteries are long thin tubes.  Artieries bring blood from our heart to the rest of our body.

Veins are long thin tubes.  Veins bring blood back from the rest of our body to our heart.

A pump moves liquid by pushing.  Our heart is a pump.  Our heart pushes liquid from the heart to the body.  The blood comes back to the heart and is pumped out again.

Oxygen is in air.  We take in oxygen when we breath.  Our blood beings oxygen to the rest of the body.  Oxygen gives us energy!

Carbon dioxide is a gas.  We cannot see it.  Our body gives out carbon dioxide when we exhale.
