Animals can live in a desert.

Lizards, insects, and snakes can live in a desert.

Animals can live in a forest.

Bears, rabbits, and birds can live in a forest.

Animals can live in a rainforest.

Many birds, monkeys, and snakes can live in a rainforest.

Animals can live on a mountain.

Goats, pandas, and bears can live in a mountain.

Animals can live in an ocean.

Many fish, sharks, and dolphins can live in an ocean.

Animals can live in a lake or river.

Frogs, alligators and fish can live in, or near a river or lake.

Animals can live in the arctic.

It is very cold and snowy in the arctic!

Polar bears and penguins live in the arctic.

Where an animal lives is called its habitat.

The habitat helps the animal to survive.

The things around the animal help it to survive.

Animals also change to do better in their environment.

This is called to adapt.  

Animals change and adapt to their environment!
