How We See Color

Things have color.

A leaf is green.

A car can be blue.

Shoes can be red.

Light is white.

White light is made of all of the colors put together.

Light shines on red shoes.

The shoes absorb all of the colors, except red.

The red light bounces off the shoe.

The red light goes to our eyes.

The shoe looks red!

Light shines on a green leaf.

The leaf absorbs all of the colors except green.

The green light bounces off.

Our eyes see green!

We see a green leaf!

Light shines on a blue car.

All of the colors are absorbed except blue.

The blue light bounces off the car.

Our eyes see blue.

We see a blue car!
