Water

The Earth has water.  Oceans, lakes, and rivers are made of water.  Water is a liquid.  Many animals live in water.  Fish, dolphins and whales live in water.

The Sun heats water in lakes and oceans.  The water goes into the air has tiny droplets.  We cannot see the droplets.  The water droplets in the air is called water vapor.

Water goes into the air as water vapor.  The water vapor goes high in the sky.  It is colder in the sky.  When the water vapor gets colder the water vapor turns into water drops.  These make clouds.  Clouds are made of drops of water.

Air is a gas.  We cannot see air.  We breathe air.  Some animals can fly in air.  Birds can fly in air.

An ocean is made of water.  An ocean is very, very big!  Some plants and animals live in an ocean.  Some fish, dolphins and whales live in oceans.  The water in oceans has salt in it.  It is called saltwater.  Some fish live only in saltwater.

A lake is made of water.  Lakes can be smaller or very big.  Many fish and some plants live in lakes.  Lakes have freshwater.  Freshwater does not have salt.  Some fish live only in freshwater.

A river is made of water.  Many plants and fish live in a river.  It can rain and snow on mountains  Rivers move water from mountains to lakes and oceans.

An estuary is made of water.  An estuary is where a river meets an ocean.  An estuary has both freshwater and saltwater.  many plants and fish and other animals like to live in or near an estuary.

Water can fall from clouds.  This is called rain.

Water in clouds can freeze.  It can make snowflakes.  Snowflakes can fall from clouds. This makes snow.
