The core is the middle of the Earth.  The core is made of metal.

The inner core is inside of Earth.

Magma is hot rock that is inside the Earth’s crust.  The rock is so hot, it has melted.  Magma is a hot, thick liquid inside of the Earth.  We can see magma when it reupts from a volcano.  Lava is magma when it is outside of the Earth’s surface.

Inside the Earth there are some layers.  The layer closest to the Earth’s crust is called the outer core.  

The surface of the Earth is called the Earth’s crust.  The Earth’s crust is made of rock.

A volcano can erpt.  lava comes out of the volcano.  Lava is very hot melted rock.  When lava cools it makes rock.  This rock is hard and black.  It is called volcanic rock.

The Earth’s crust is made of rock.  The rock is in big pieces.  These pieces of rock are called tectonic plates.  When the tectonic plates move a lot, it is called an earthquake.

A fault is where two tectonic plates meet.  It is a break in the Earth’s crust.  When a tectonic plate moves it can make an earthquake at the fault line.

The Earth is where we live.  The Earth is very, very big.  The Earth is made of rock.  The Earth is in space.  The inside of the Earth has layers.  The inside is made of rock and metal.
