The Sun is a star.  The sun is very, very, big.  The Sun is in space.  The Sun is very, very hot.  The Sun is made of burning gas!

Stars are very, very big.  Stars are in space.  Stars look small because they are so far away.  Stars are very hot.  Stars are made of burning gas.  Our sun is a star.

Air is a gas.  We cannot see gas.  Gas can fill things up like a tire, a balloon and. a bubble.  The air around Earth is a gas.

A fire burns.  A gas can burn.  A star is made of burning gas.

Hot is the opposite of cold.  A fire is hot.  The Sun is hot.

Things can be close to us.  Look at your hand.  Your hand is close to you.  A star is very far from us.  It would take many years to travel to get to a star, if we even could!

Things can be small.  An ant is small.  Things can be big.  An elephant is big.  A planet is very, very, very big.  A star is also very, very, big!  Stars look small because they are so far away.

The Sun has rays.  Rays are part of the sun that give off heat and light.
