The place where an animal lives is called its environment!

Animals can change to do better in their environment.  This is called to adapt.

A desert is an environment that has very little weather.  A desert is dry.  Cactus live in deserts.  Snakes. lizards, and insects can live in a desert.

A forest is an environment.  A forest has a lot of trees.  Some forest have a lot of rain.  Some forests are in places with seasons.  Some forests are in warm places, some forests are in cold places.

A rainforest has a lot of trees.  A rainforest has a lot of rain.  A rainforest can be in a warm place or a cold place.  A lot of animals and plants like to live in a rainforest.

The ocean is a very big!  The ocean is made of water.  A lot of animals live in the ocean.  Fish, whales, and dolphins live in the ocean.  There are 5 oceans on Earth.

A grassland has a lot of grass.  Grass is a long thin plant that covers the ground.  Lots of animals like to eat grass.  Horses, cows and rabbits eat grass.  A grassland can also be called a prairie.

The arctic is a very cold place.  The temperature in the arctic is very. cold. There can be a lot of snow in the arctic.  Penguins, polar bears, and some birds and fish can live in the arctic.

A mountain is very tall.  It is cold at the top of a mountain.  Some animals and plants live in mountain areas.  Pine trees, birds, and bears can live in the mountains.
