Eating and Digestion
We can eat things.
The food goes into our mouth.
Teeth chew the food.
The tongue tastes the food.
The food goes into the stomach.
The stomach makes the food a liquid.
The liquid moves into the intestines.
The intestines take our nutrients from the food.
Nutrients are like vitamins.
The nutrients give our body energy.
The part of food we do not need is waste.
Waste is something we do not need, like garbage.
We go to the bathroom to get rid of the waste.
The part of our body that uses food is called the digestive system.
The mouth, stomach, and intestines are all part of the digestive system.
This part of the body is important to keep us healthy and give us energy we need to do lots of things!
